“HARRY VILLEGAS, known by his nom de guerre ‘Pombo’, worked and fought alongside Ernesto Che Guevara for a decade - in Cuba, the Congo and Bolivia. Those years, from 1957 to 1967, saw the workers and peasants of Cuba bring down the U.S.-Backed dictatorship of Fulgêncio Batista, open the socialist revolution in the Americas, and challenge the domination of U.S. imperialism throughout the hemisphere. 

Currently a brigadier general in the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, Villegas talks about the struggles he has taken part in four decades - including the war in Angola and the historic defeat of the South African Apartheid army at Cuito Cuanavale in 1988. Abobe all, he explains the importance of Guevara’s political legacy for new generations of fighters the World over.“
