“THOMAS OKUMA is a Minister of the United Church of Christ Congregationalist. A native of Hawaii, the firts attended The University of Hawaii and later was graduated from Berea College in Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He was sent to Angola in 1959 as a teacher and a missionary and at various Times served there for eight years altogether. Aware of the need for more understanding of the political and social forces at variance in Angola, he took time out from his duties there to participate as a fellow in the African Studies Program at Boston University.“
